Waste Processing Facility and Residual Waste Landfill in Lamia, Greece
The project “Studies for the Waste Treatment Facility and Residual Waste Landfill in Lamia” was elaborated for the Association of Solid Waste Management Agencies of the Region of Sterea Ellada and funded by the Cohesion Fund / Partnership Agreement for the Development Framework 2014-2020.
The project included the implementation of the following studies: a) Surveying study, b) Geological study, c) Geotechnical investigations and study, d) Environmental Impact Assessment study e) Technical Design and f) preparation of Tender Documents for the Works Contract.
The waste treatment plant consists of mechanical pre-treatment following by anaerobic treatment of the organic fraction. The overall capacity of the MBT facility is 94,000 tn/yr, while the disposal capacity of the landfill is 350,000 m3 of waste. The cost of the facilities is ~50 mil. EUR.
