Solid Waste Management Programme II / Consulting Services for a Feasibility Study, Kosovo

The “Solid Waste Management Programme II, Kosovo / Consulting Services for a Feasibility Study” (BMZ No.: 2016 67 591) project was implemented for the Ministry of Economic Development of Kosovo and funded by KfW Development Bank.

The project proposed investments and accompanying measures, to be funded by the Federal Republic of Germany through KfW Development Bank, aiming to improve the living conditions of the population, to protect the environment and to contribute to the adaption to climate change, as well as the mitigation of GHG emissions. The investments, considered in the Feasibility Study, comprised measures to extend, rehabilitate, construct newly and close the 4 landfills (Prishtina, Prizren, Gjilan and Podujevo) and upgrade the transfer station (Ferizaj), which are operated by the Kosovo Landfill Management Company (KLMC). They were supported by the respective Conceptual Design and ESIA Studies.
