Regional Solid Waste Project, North Macedonia

The project is funded by EBRD and implemented for the Ministry of Environment and Physical Planning. The project’s objective is to facilitate the timely and effective implementation of the Waste Management Projects foreseen for Pelagonia & Southwest Regions and Polog Region, by providing assistance to the Client. The project includes:

 

  • Support in establishment of the PIU

  • Design, tendering and contracting of waste management facilities (landfills and transfer stations) and equipment (bins and trucks)

  • Support in compliance and reporting obligations according to the financing agreement

  • Environmental and social assessment support

The project is the very first nation-wide undertaken in the solid waste sector, in North Macedonia, and an important step towards a sustainable solution for solid waste management services.
