National C&DW Management Plan, Kosovo

The “Development of a Construction and Demolition Waste Management Plan in Kosovo” was implemented for the Ministry of Environment, Spatial Planning and Infrastructure and funded by EBRD. 

Construction and demolition waste (C&DW) is the largest waste stream in Kosovo and a very problematic one. The 2015 Circular Economy Action Plan of the EC includes C&DW among the “priority” waste streams. There is a big potential for making C&DW management truly circular, through the development of a sustainable C&DW management plan for Kosovo, taking into consideration the national and EU legal requirements, the current financial and institutional constraints, and the existing good practices in C&DW management.
